American universities have made great gains to streamline the procurement process to realize cost savings. To many, however, these processes continue to fall short when it comes to using procurement as part of a strategic approach for building an integrated, digital learning ecosystem. This session will identify some of the shortcomings that still exist in the procurement process and discuss how procurement can be leveraged to become an essential part of a campus’ strategic initiative to reach the next generation learning environment. We will also share what IMS is doing to help institutions articulate their interoperability expectations, with specific emphasis on LTI integration.
