Our lives are driven by our ability to access and retrieve information — all kinds of information in a multitude of formats. Whether it is a book, the web, or a video, access to information is key to student success. Yet despite the fact that our world is filled with digital technology, barriers to access are ubiquitous. This is a problem, however, that can be solved through campus leadership, willingness for change, and a trained workforce. This discussion will focus on how two campuses are meeting these challenges through the integration of accessibility standards, what is needed to achieve effective digital accessible content, and what the future might look like when all students have equal access.
