In January 2016 IMS Global, with support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, began its Communities of Practice (CP) initiative to help institutions work towards an integrated digital curriculum and next generation learning environment. Key to helping colleges and universities realize these ambitions is the development of institutional strategies for data collection and operationalizing analytics across the campus culture. The IMS Learning Data & Analytics CP has brought together 8+ institutions working together to share and develop resources to advance the needs and best practices of learning data around the Caliper  standard. This panel discussion brings together the co-chairs of this Community of Practice with some of its members to discuss how they are advancing the use of learning data on their campuses, an update on the work of this community and why it is essential to helping move forward the wider adoption of Caliper.
